The most important purpose of the field evaluation is looking at detectors with GPS. We’ve talked about this. Those with GPS can eliminate false alerts by knowing where they are and deleting the false alert. Escort’s patented AutoLearn program lets you do this. Winners are determined by the percentage of signal strength reported at distance in the Radar Reception And Reporting Test and the Long Range Test. Winners of the Radar Detector Detector Test were determined by those detectors not detected by any RDD on any attempt. The winners are reported by type of test. Most Innovative Products were determined by the realistically useful features not found in other detectors. In other categories of field testing, there were no winners as all performed equally.
